WHAT IS THE Mountaineer REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER?

The Mountaineer Regional Training Center (MRTC) was established to support and train athletes who aspire to compete in the international styles of wrestling. In conjunction with USA Wrestling and the Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club, the MRTC affords wrestlers the opportunity to train with world class athletes, under the guidance of world class coaching. The MRTC will provide support in all areas necessary to help our athletes accomplish their goals.

All athletes must meet USA Wrestling RTC minimum qualification criteria.

WHAT IS THE USA WRESTLING ATHLETE CRITERIA TO PARTICIPATE IN A REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER?

a. Won at least one match at a USAW World or Olympic Team Trials
b. Placed top 8 at USAW Senior Open Championships
c. Placed top 8 at USAW University National Championships
d. Placed top 8 at FILA Junior National Championships
e. Placed top 8 at USAW Junior National Championships
f. Placed top 8 at USAW Cadet National Championships
g. Placed top 4 in the High School State Championships
h. Placed top 4 at the Prep National Championships
i. Placed top 4 at USAW State Junior freestyle/Greco-Roman Championships
j. Placed top 4 at USAW State Cadet freestyle/Greco-Roman Championships
